Biteluxe vs Canary

Canary gives your team a platform. We build the journey around your hotel and run it.

Canary is a large guest management platform, trusted by over 20,000 hotels, with tools for check-in, messaging, upsells and payments that your team sets up and manages. Biteluxe is a managed service. We build the guest journey around how your property already works, and we keep running it.

What Canary is

A broad platform for your team to run.

Canary covers most of the digital guest journey: mobile check-in, tablet registration, kiosks, mobile keys, messaging, upsells, tipping, checkout and payments. Its AI Agent Studio “lets hoteliers build and manage AI agents”, starting from pre-built templates or from scratch.

It is a strong product with round-the-clock support, and it is designed to be operated by the hotel's own team.

What we are

One partner who builds it and runs it.

We start with your SOPs: how your team already takes a dinner booking, where housekeeping hears about a request, what guests ask before they arrive. Then we build around it: the messages, shaped for each channel in your voice, online check-in and checkout, requests sent straight to the right team, and custom automations for the jobs your team still does by hand, such as the morning briefing. We connect your PMS and keep all of it running.

Your team gets one inbox, on desktop and phone, with a fifteen-minute walkthrough, and replies to what needs a person. Nothing breaks when someone leaves, because we maintain everything behind it.

Side by side

Who does the work.

The question that decides whether guest technology lasts is who builds it, who keeps it current and who your team has to become to run it.

Building the guest journeyYour team does it

Hoteliers build and manage AI agents, from pre-built templates or their own.

We do it

We map your SOPs and build the journey around them.

Wording and timing the messagesYour team does it

“Create on-brand messages and easily customize when they send.”

We do it

You tell us what you want to say. We shape it for the channel, set it in your voice and send it at the right moment.

Your team chooses the items, sets prices and blackout dates, and approves or denies each request.

We do it

We build the offers around your availability and your rules.

Not stated on Canary's upsells page.

We do it

An upgrade goes onto the reservation and is settled at checkout.

Yes

Routed the way your team already works, by WhatsApp to housekeeping if that is how they run.

Changes after go-liveDepends on plan

Your team makes them, with the tools on its plan: AI replies from Advanced, the website AI agent on Pro.

Included

Every change after go-live is ours and part of the service, whatever you have us build.

Rules beyond the standard settingsYour team does it

Built by your team with Canary's “library of tools and skills” and the upsell settings: items, prices, blackout dates.

Built from scratch

Package codes combined, offers cut off by date, a different channel for each team, automations for the jobs done by hand: whatever your operation needs.

Names Opera, Mews, Cloudbeds and others.

Yes

Official partners of Oracle Opera, Guestline and many other PMS providers.

Check-in and messaging run in the browser.

None

Guests reply in the channel already on their phone.

Custom automations for your teamYour team does it

Teams “configure agent rules, workflows and integrations” in Canary's AI Agent Studio.

Built for you

Any job your team still does by hand. For example, a morning briefing pulled together from your PMS, your other systems and what guests told us, emailed as a PDF to print before the shift.

Online check-in and checkoutYes

Mobile check-in on every plan, and Smart Checkout from Advanced.

We do it

Registration details collected before arrival and written back to your PMS. The bill settled from the guest's phone on the morning they leave.

Your team's time to go liveNot stated

Every plan includes a dedicated onboarding and training lead.

1 hour 15 minutes

A one-hour kick-off and a fifteen-minute inbox walkthrough. The three weeks of building are ours.

What we say about Canary comes from Canary's own public website, checked in September 2026: Homepage · Pricing · AI Agent Studio · Guest Messaging · AI Guest Messaging · Upsells · Integrations · Mobile check-in. Where their site does not say, we say so. Something out of date? Tell us and we will correct it.

Built from scratch

Built deeper than a dashboard allows.

Self-serve dashboards are designed so that anyone can set them up, and that limits what they can do. The plan often decides how far it goes. We build for your property, so it follows your rules and your voice exactly, down to the small rules your team relies on.

Package codes, combined

Three rate codes that all mean a spa break are treated as one, so every spa guest gets the spa journey, however they booked.

Offers that know the date

Flowers in the room stop being offered once arrival is too close for the florist. You set the cut-off.

A channel for each team

Maintenance requests reach your engineers on WhatsApp, and housekeeping hears on Facebook Messenger, if that is where each team already is.

Automations for the jobs done by hand

The morning briefing is one example: arrivals from the PMS, occasions from guest conversations and open requests, on one sheet before the shift, laid out the way your team reads it.

Canary's agents are customised by your team, from templates or with Canary's own “library of tools and skills”. What you can change also depends on the plan: AI replies start on Advanced, and the website AI agent is on Pro. Every change after go-live is part of our service, whatever you have us build.

Canary may suit you better if

  • You want check-in, kiosks, mobile keys and payments from one vendor.
  • Your team wants to build and adjust its own AI agents.
  • Your brand already lists Canary as a partner.
  • Phone support around the clock matters more to you than a managed service.

Biteluxe suits you if

  • You have a bespoke guest journey that needs a custom build.
  • You want the guest journey built around how your property already works.
  • Nobody on your team has time to build and maintain another system.
  • You want upgrades and requests to land where your team already looks.
  • You want one partner accountable for the result.
  • You want the jobs your team still does by hand automated too, such as a morning briefing pulled together from your PMS and other systems.

Switching from Canary

One hour fifteen minutes of your team's time.

01

Thirty minutes

Show us where guests get stuck and which parts of Canary your team relies on. We tell you honestly what we would change and what we would keep.

02

One session, then three weeks

A one-hour kick-off to map your SOPs. Then the building, the connections and the testing are ours.

03

Two months

Fifteen minutes to walk your front desk through the inbox, then two months in the operation before any annual commitment.

How it works

Questions hotels ask

What is the main difference between Canary and Biteluxe?

Canary is a platform your team configures and manages. Biteluxe is a managed service: we build the guest journey around your hotel's own way of working and run it for you. Your team replies to what needs a person.

Can we use Biteluxe alongside Canary?

Often, yes. If your team relies on Canary for check-in or payments, tell us which parts work well and we build around them. We change as little as possible.

How do we move from Canary to Biteluxe?

Thirty minutes to look at where guests get stuck, a one-hour kick-off, then three weeks of our time to build, connect and test. Your front desk gets a fifteen-minute walkthrough of the inbox, and you have two months in the operation before any annual commitment.

Which PMS does Biteluxe work with?

Any PMS with usable endpoints, plus the restaurant and spa diaries and payment provider you already run. We are official partners of Oracle Opera, Guestline and many other PMS providers.

How is Biteluxe priced compared with Canary?

Canary prices by quote. We price on the property, billed monthly, for what you have us build.

Where does this comparison come from?

Everything we say about Canary comes from Canary's own public website, checked in September 2026, and the pages are listed under the table. Products change. If anything here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Built around your hotel. Managed by us.

What are your guests trying to do that is harder than it should be?

Bring us the action, the brand, the awkward systems and the operational reality. We will shape the message for each channel and build the easiest route through them.

Show us where guests get stuck. Nothing to prepare. Sometimes the honest answer is that you do not need us.
